A Note from Ms. Anna...

During my four years at college, I worked a couple jobs in education. I spent two summers in Kansas City, working as a teacher’s assistant for a special needs classroom. My experiences at this school mainly included daily care of severely disabled students, such as maintaining hygiene and assistance in eating and mobile activities. In addition, I worked as a preschool teacher with the DFW Center for Autism at their Texas Star Academy. While I was there I instructed both typical children as well as children with autism. As a teacher for TSA, I was trained in the basics of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) as well as training in incidental teaching. I have also spent some time tutoring children of all ages in reading, math, and algebra at Academics Plus. Along with the teaching, I assisted the owner and director with many administrative duties, such as scheduling, diagnostic testing, and training of new teachers.
My philosophy is that every child is uniquely talented and that it is the educator’s job to bring out the highest qualities from each student. Learning should be a fun, engaging, and overall positive experience for every child. I thoroughly enjoy watching young children grow and learn and I hope to be a positive impact on each of them. Every child deserves to shine and I’m here to help that happen.
